Why you should support Carmen White
Carmen White will be a qualified, experienced and fair Judge. After receiving her law degree from Harvard Law School in 1999, Carmen pursued her passion of becoming a public servant when she joined the Dallas County District Attorney's Office in 2001. Sixteen years later, Mrs. White currently serves as an Administrative Prosecutor and is a nationally-recognized speaker on the issues of Child Abuse.
Carmen has prosecuted crimes against children for nearly 13 years. She speaks nationally on the topic and has published and presented several articles for the State Bar of Texas. As former member of the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, Carmen still keeps the well being of children close to her heart. Carmen currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Promise House, a non-profit organization that embraces and supports homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth.
Carmen was instrumental in implementing (SET) Dallas County's first District Attorney Mental Health diversion program. This program is designed to stabilize, engage, and transition defendants who suffer from mental illness from the criminal justice system back to the community.
Carmen served as the legislative liaison for the District Attorney's Office in 2007 and again in 2017.
In her current position at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, Carmen supervises the Child Abuse Division, the Sexual Assault Division, the Human Trafficking Division, the Mental Health Division, and until recently, the Animal Cruelty Division. Carmen is often heard saying that "I do what I do so that children of all ages can sleep peacefully at night".
Carmen is known around the criminal courthouse as fair and knowledgable about the law.
Originally from Russellville, Arkansas, Carmen graduated cum laude from Baylor University in 1995.
Carmen is the wife of Dr. Brian C. White and they are blessed with one daughter, Kailyn.
